As a visual artist myself, I was greatly astounded by Anthony Fermin's last exhibit entitled "Seasons". This generation is truly evolving. The world becomes draining. How can a mere individual survive a certain season? As a Christian artist, Anthony Fermin captures how one can battle through this world by flowing with the grace of the Creator.

"I will make rivers flow on barren heights and springs within the valleys". Isaiah 41:18

Flow simply means the action of moving along in a steady continuous stream. The passage expresses our next steps towards fulfilling our real purpose on earth.

It's just so interesting to know that the significance of Fermin's exhibit this time focuses on objects and symbols instead of people with in depth meanings. "The Flow", compared with Anthony's other exhibits, is inspired by his walk with God. Just simply going with the flow, not just any flow but God’s flow.

Born in 1976, Pasay, Manila, Anthony steadfastly pursued his dreams though insurmountable obstacles have hindered him along the way. God was his only strength he said. He takes prides in sharing that it is God who empowered and gave him success in life. He has exhibited his works locally and internationally to Malaysia, Germany, Austria and the United States. Exquisitely, it is where Anthony cultivates relationships, inspiration and true joy.

Most of his works reveal a story of grief and struggles that yet end with smiles only because of the grace of God.

Fermin said, "Creativity is a gift that we should nurture and impart to others for we are His handiwork. Therefore, we should honor Him through our works."
He also added, "I am grateful to my collectors who supported me along the way. I would not have been here without your support." Anthony Fermin joyfully expressed.
As for me, it was such a great experience interviewing a very humble and talented person like Sir Anthony Fermin, a Filipino pride. His paintings are manifesting how he has survived each of his life's seasons by simply trusting the Creator and making sure he still goes with the flow of God's will.

Anthony Fermin is exhibiting this beautiful series at Galeria Lienzo, 2nd floor, The Shops Serendra, 11th Ave. BGC, Taguig City. Exhibit starts on December 11, 2023.
