Charlie’s Art Gallery is proud to present the 5th annual Italia Art Festival 2015. This show is for the benefit of Stichting ANAK, a foundation that was conceived as a means to support impoverished families, through the formal education of their children. The foundation set up a scholarship fund , not as a dole-out, but as a means of empowerment for seeking a better life.

Stichting ANAK was founded in 2002, in Holland, by Jeannine Laurens and Martijn Schutte, who came to Bacolod as visiting students in 1987. They witnessed the poor living conditions of people living in the city’s slum areas, as well as the inability of certain sectors to provide for basic needs. This made a great impact on them, and as a response to help care for some of the families,Stichting Anak was established.

Italia Art 2015 is a collection of works by Filipino national artists and masters. This year, we are privileged to exhibit works of national artists Jerry Elizalde Navarro, Federico Aguilar - Alcuaz and Arturo Luz; masters like Oscar Zalameda Onib Olmedo, Angelito Antonio, Romulo Olazo, Gus Albor, Norma Belleza, Angel Cacnio and the current favorites Jun Martinez, Hermes Alegre, Caloy Gabuco, Lydia Velasco, Nunelucio Alvarado, Francis Nacion and TOYM awardee and sculptor Michael Cacnio.
